This past March, the Association of Minor League Umpires and UMPS CARE Charities came together to take part in three bowling tournaments in Arizona and Florida. This friendly competition between crews brought in over $25,000 for the charity. UMPS CARE would like to thank each of the particpants who fundraised for the cause, as well as all of the supporters who came out to the event. A special shout out goes to the umpiring crews based at the following camps:
Proceeds from the event will allow UMPS CARE to provide the following programs in 2018:
Build-A-Bear workshop experiences to critically ill children at 14 different hospitals nationwide,
VIP baseball experiences to at-risk youth, kids battling major illness, children in foster care and military families at each major league ballpark across the country,
College scholarships to children adopted later in life,
Short term financial assistance to families in need in umpiring communities across the country.
