5th Annual All-Star Break Golf Scramble Raises More than $46K for UMPS CARE Programs

For the 5th consecutive year, Major League Baseball umpires spent their precious time during the All-Star Game Break to support UMPS CARE Charities and our programs at the All-Star Break Golf Scramble.

The weather was perfect. The golf was great. The cause brought everyone together.

The event this year, hosted by MLB umpires Tripp Gibson, Mike Muchlinski and Quinn Wolcott at the Cedarcrest Golf Course in Marysville, Washington, was sold out weeks in advance and raised more than $46,000 for the charity.

It was a great way for Gibson, Muchlinski and Wolcott – all of whom live in the Seattle area – to give back as proceeds from this event support our annual visit to Seattle Children’s Hospital and our on-the-field visits at Seattle Mariners and Tacoma Rainiers games for underserved youth, critically ill kids and military families.

In addition to Gibson, Muchlinski and Wolcott, there were officials from the NBA, NHL and NFL as well as the Pac-12 who participated in the event.
We could not have pulled this off without the behind-the-scenes efforts of Danna Gibson, Julie Muchlinski and Gillian Wolcott and their amazing volunteers!

Special thanks to IE RealtorsFoley's of New YorkRick Rizzs and Toys For Kids, Madison Marquette, The Tacoma Rainiers, Columbia Distributing, Boston Beer Company, John Holmberg, Haggen Northwest Fresh, Truly Hard Seltzer, PMRG,  Seattle Mariners, Rachel's Ginger Beer, Whistle Stop, Wilder Custom Construction and other top sponsors of this event for supporting our mission that helping people is an easy call.

We also wanted to thank Whole Foods of Lynwood for providing granola bars to our golfers, Dick’s Sporting Goods for coupons and prizes, local coffee house Woods Coffee, Seattle-based sports clothing company, Vintage Brand and all of companies and organizations that provided auction items.

Congrats to the winning foursome of Elisha Anderson, Mario Isho Tye Hodgin and Erik Hammerstrom!
