Gene La Suer

Gene La Suer is a lifelong baseball fan and a recently retired trial lawyer from Iowa’s largest law firm Davis Brown (now known as Denton Davis Brown). He regularly helped companies in the healthcare and manufacturing industries with a variety of matters.

For more than 30 years, he was General Counsel to the Iowa Broadcasters Association. While with Davis Brown, Gene was heavily involved in the management of the firm, serving as president of the firm for eight years and on the compensation committee for 20 years. Throughout his career, Gene built a reputation amongst clients and colleagues for his willingness to lend a hand, give advice, and act as the voice of reason, he hopes to do the same thing as he serves on the UMPS CARE Charities Board.

Gene said the mission statement “speaks for itself” and believes in helping kids with disadvantaged backgrounds.  Gene was introduced to UMPS CARE through MLB Umpire and UMPS CARE Secretary Paul Emmel.

Gene has been married to Diane Stahle for 36 years and has two children, Megan and Sara.
