Samuel is a chairman emeritus at UMPS CARE Charities and a former Minor League Baseball umpire. Along with Marvin Hudson, now an MLB umpire, Samuel helped create the BLUE Crew Ticket Program at UMPS CARE. Samuel was volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters when he brought his “little” to a game to meet Marvin and get an understanding of the life of an umpire. Today, the program reaches close to 800 participants each season. He is the owner of Camp Bow Wow in Albany, New York.
