Thanks to all of the umpires, golfers, sponsors, volunteers and friends who joined us at 15th Annual UMPS CARE Golf Classic in Phoenix, Arizona. The event was a smashing success! On this beautiful Arizona day over 200 of our supporters showed up for a round of golf and the post-event banquet hosted by ESPN’s Pedro Gomez. It’s clear everyone came ready to give as UMPS CARE enjoyed our most successful Live Auction and Special Appeal yet!
Special thanks to All-Star Scholarship graduate Logan Decker for joining us and sharing her story. The crowd was moved to make an impact — donating over $18,000 for the All-Star College Scholarship Program. We are still accepting donations here through the end of the month. These funds will go towards our 2020 Scholarship that will be named in memory of MLB Umpire Eric Cooper.
Many of you went home as big winners taking home prizes from the raffle and auction, among them stay and play golf trips to Hawaii and San Diego (thanks Madison Marquette for generously donating a second Hawaiian trip). The tournament winners were Jackie Byrd, David Busch, Kerwin Danley, Ronald Hernandez and Brandon Gordon shown below having a great time.
