MLB Umpires Raise More than $67,000 At Topgolf Doubleheader

Major League Baseball umpires, their families and UMPS CARE supporters gathered at Topgolf locations in Scottsdale, Arizona, and Tampa, Florida, and raised more than $67,000 for UMPS CARE programs!

It was UMPS CARES’ inaugural Spring Training doubleheader, and the event was a huge success! MLB umpire Mark Wegner led the way as the top overall fundraiser, collecting nearly $10,000 from his circle of donors. MLB umpire Doug Eddings was the top fundraiser in Arizona, raising more than $5,000.

Top golfers from our Florida event were MLB umpires Fieldin Culbreth and Brian O’Nora and MLB umpire supervisor Larry Young. In Arizona, the winning team featured MLB umpires Gabe Morales and Mark Carlson and guests Dr. Brian Carlin, Don Rea and Katie Rea.

Thank you so much to everyone who supported this effort – we know everyone had a fantastic time and folks are already asking about when the events will be held next year!

Special shout outs to the Topgolf staff members in Tampa and Scottsdale, photographer Terry Fisher, author John Hoppin, who sold copies of Ballpark2Ballpark and donated proceeds to UMPS CARE.
