Today was a bittersweet day for all of us at UMPS CARE Charities – we celebrated another successful Golf Marathon as golfers played 100 holes of golf and raised more than $67K for our programs. We also had heavy hearts as we missed Eric Cooper – an MLB umpire who passed away last month at the age of 52.

MLB umpires, Minor League Umpires and UMPS CARE supporters played 100 holes in our annual Golf Marathon to raise funds for our programs. The umpires spent the day at the beautiful Augusta Ranch Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona. We sincerely thank Don Rea and his Augusta Ranch staff for their efforts and hospitality.

Proceeds from the Golf Marathon allow us to continue to provide the following UMPS CARE programs:

  • Memorable Build-A-Bear Workshop experiences for pediatric patients coping with cancer and other serious illnesses
  • Big League experiences at ballparks across the country for at-risk youth and children awaiting adoption
  • Financial support for college for children adopted after the age of 13
