Thanks so much to everyone who participated in our 11th Annual UMPS CARE Charities Online Auction hosted on MLB.com. We offered more than 400 items – including on-the-field baseball experiences at Major League and Minor League Baseball parks, travel packages, memorabilia and more! We shipped them to supporters across the globe from to Hawaii to Japan and raised a record amount for our programs – more than $87,000! Those dollars will support our BLUE Crew Ticket program in which we will bring close to 800 participants from various community organizations to Major League Baseball ballparks, our BLUE For Kids hospital programs in which we will provide Build-A-Bear Workshop for critically ill kids at 16 pediatric hospitals and our All-Star College Scholarship which has provided close to $200,000 in college funding for kids adopted later in life. Of course, we also support those in need in our umpiring family.
So whether you bid on an autographed baseball or tickets to a big-league ballgame, you helped make a difference in the lives of others and for that, we humbly thank you!
