UMPS CARE Charities, the official philanthropy of the Major League Baseball umpires, is proud to announce we have launched our annual 100 Bears For The Holidays campaign which runs throughout the month of December in an effort to continue providing Build-A-Bear® deliveries to children at pediatric hospitals.
We are thrilled to be teaming up with the Arby’s Foundation, which is matching all donations, dollar for dollar, up to $10,000 to help us deliver more Build-A-Bear® furry friends, outfits, baseball-themed activity books and more to young patients undergoing medical treatment.

UMPS CARE will participate in several hospital Build-A-Bear® deliveries this month, including one at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. Major League Baseball Umpire Adrian Johnson and a few UMPS CARE representatives delivered Build-A-Bear furry friends to young patients. Adrian hosted the UMPS CARE Charities Houston Golf Outing last month to raise funds for this visit.
“We are so grateful for the support of the Arby’s Foundation for this campaign which is critical to funding our hospital visits next season,” said Jennifer Skolochenko-Platt, Executive Director at UMPS CARE Charities. “This program is near and dear to our heart, and we are blessed to be able to continue to deliver stuffed toys and smiles to children who are facing so many challenges.”
Since the program was created in 2006, UMPS CARE Charities has delivered more than 18,300 Build-A-Bear® stuffed toys to children undergoing treatment in pediatric hospitals across the country and in Canada.
