Brian Hertzog began umpiring high school baseball in 2003. After attending professional umpire school in 2006, he went on to umpire professionally, spending  nine seasons in Minor League Baseball through 2014, and finished that chapter of his career as a crew chief in the Triple-A Pacific Coast League. He is currently an NCAA umpire for Divisions I, II and III, and recently umpired his second Division II National Championship. Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Brian met his wife, Bonnie, after high school and married soon afterward. The Hertzogs love travel, and umpiring has blessed them with opportunities to make trips to umpire in Venezuela, Austria and England.
