Mentorship

All-Star College Scholarship Mentors

Our scholarship recipients are paired with Major League Baseball Umpires and Family Members to provide mentorship and on-going support to help ensure lifelong success. The mentors will make periodic phone calls to check in, send care packages and arrange for special meet and greets for lunch or at an MLB ballpark! The program is designed to be more than a check. Once you are part of the UMPS CARE Charities community, you are truly part of our crew!

The legacy of MLB Umpire Eric Cooper, seen above participating in a BLUE for Kids hospital visit, continues through the UMPS CARE All-Star College Scholarship Program. “Coop” passed away suddenly in October 2019.

“It is an honor to have Eric remembered through UMPS CARE All-Star Scholarship for deserving young adults. Eric achieved a successful career through hard work, determination and a steady commitment to his chosen field. We see these same attributes in Marcus. Congratulations we look forward to following your college journey.”
