Kris Engstrand has been a member of the Stamford, Connecticut, Police Department since 1997. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2006. He has served as a Field Training Officer, Community Resource Officer, Property Crimes Investigator, Training Supervisor and Patrol Division Supervisor. 

He currently is the President of the Stamford Police Association, a full-time position he has held since 2016. In this role he negotiates collective bargaining agreements, handles labor issues, disciplinary cases and engages in numerous community and charity events.

Kris attended the Minor League Baseball Umpire Academy. Currently he is a NCAA Division 1 umpire working in several conferences.

Kris attended Alfred University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. 

He grew up in Cheshire, Ct and currently resides in Fairfield, Connecticut. Kris is married with three children.
